Upcoming Chocolate Making Courses
Master Chocolatier Arno Backes loves to share his passion of all things chocolate and was keen to incorporate a teaching school within Gânache Chocolate when it opened back in 2008.
Since then, many people have taken part in classes, learning how to make truffles, garnishes, chocolate bars and more recently macarons.
With the extension of the kitchen in late 2011, the teaching school was improved and moved into the new kitchen space to make use of all the new equipment. Classes can now take place at any time and students can observe the Pastry Chefs as they create delicious desserts and patisserie.
With several informative hands-on chocolate classes to choose from there is a class to suit the needs of all chocolate devotees.
The introductory “Art of Chocolate" class will delight chocolate enthusiasts as Arno uncovers a brief history of chocolate and the sourcing of high quality ingredients while students touch, smell and taste different varieties of fine chocolate. Students will also have the chance to make truffles and of course take home their delicious creations.
The very popular “Chocolate Truffle” class, guides participants through the art of making different types of truffles, as well as teaching tempering and piping skills.
New in 2011, the “Perfect Macaron” class was introduced for those who wished to perfect making these delicious but problematic treats, with Arno sharing some secret tips to ensure the best results. The “Chocolate Mousse and Garnishes” class also made its debut, after many requests.
Students will come away feeling inspired with a well-rounded education into the connoisseurship of high quality chocolate, plus easy to do at home recipes from the Master Chocolatier.
